London’s rich cultural and artistic offer is key to making it an exciting and enjoyable city to live, work, visit and invest in. The quality of its architecture and public realm is a crucial part of this, and one that the Mayor of London’s new Cultural Strategy places particular emphasis on. This includes how our initiative, Art in the Open, can and is supporting the development of high quality art in the public realm in the capital. We believe inspirational places showcase the city and help ensure all of London’s communities have access to culture in the capital. Through Art in the Open and our other Advocacy & Enabling initiatives, we work with architects and artists, local authorities and regeneration agencies, developers, young people and others, to support the development of London as a thriving cultural hub, with exemplary architecture and art at the heart of all areas of the city.
