Architecture Academy

The taster Architecture Academy for young Londoners is a week long workshop which investigates through creative explorations and workshops over four days how their city is designed and built, with the final results on display at a public exhibition.

Summer Academy poster As a team, young people, built environment professionals, architecture students, and Open-City Educators create a 3D model designing a new urban quarter, testing out life-size structures, model-making techniques and mapping along the way visits to exemplar London buildings.

The programme opens young people's eyes to an understanding of architecture and the great variety of career opportunities in the built environment industries, many of which they may not previously have known about. Professionals and students gain skills and experience in working with young people, all vital to the development of their practice and careers.
