Principal Place: Designing and Constructing with Sustainability in Mind

Multiplex Construction Europe, Foster + Partners & MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology)

15 May 2018

8.30 am - 11.00 am

Principal Place, Shoreditch High Street, EC2A 2BA

Principal Place is a mixed-use development comprising office, retail, residential and public spaces in a spot where The City meets Shoreditch and in an area of archaeological interest. Across five buildings and a half-acre piazza, Principal Place puts people first – whether they are living in the apartments, working in the offices or dining in the new restaurants. Incorporated in the development is the new home of one of the world’s largest Internet retailers, as well as 20,000 sq ft of restaurants and shops, and Principal Tower – a 50-storey residential building currently under construction by Multiplex Construction Europe, which is due to complete in 2019.

We are opening our doors on Tuesday 15th May for a breakfast event that will showcase how the end-users and the environment have been considered throughout the design and construction phases of the development. You will hear from us, Multiplex, about initiatives we use to engage with our supply chain and drive resource efficiency during construction. The project’s architect, Foster + Partners, will present on how each apartment has been designed to optimise the residents’ experience – such as how the shape of each floor plate in Principal Tower enhances the residents’ view from each apartment. We will take you on a tour around the Principal Tower construction site so you can see these initiatives come to life, and you will also have the opportunity to hear from MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) on the artifacts uncovered during construction.
