Buildings are meant for people. By situating the user at the heart of the design process, we can create more meaningful, sustainable and healthier spaces. Through the following presentations, the event will discuss a range of tools that help improve human experience of buildings and cities using innovative design strategies.

SandBOX: an early stage design tool for enhanced human experience, Martha Tsigarki (Partner, Applied Research and Development, Foster + Partners) and Stamatios Psarras (Associate, Applied Research and Development, Foster + Partners).

Predicting human behaviour in urban environments, Anne Rose (Director, Space Syntax)

Immersive outdoor comfort design, Byron Mardas (Senior Environmental Designer, Foster + Partners)

Natural environments versus artificial environments, Irene Gallou (Partner, Specialist Modelling Group, Foster + Partners)

Holistic design approach through integration of human-centered design tools, Rafe Bertram (Partner, Foster + Partners)

This will be followed by a debate moderated by Julie Godefroy (Head of Sustainability Development, CIBSE), and interactive demonstrations where attendees will have the opportunity to try some of these tools.

This event will also be streamed live on the night. Watch live here - https://my.isdmcloud.com/stream/42fd0cc1-7ccd-4ec6-b27b-4d25ca6bd065
