Designing for health and wellbeing in retail stores is key to promote employees' as well as customers' satisfaction.
Marks & Spencer, The Crown Estate and BuroHappold have worked together, as part of the UKGBC Wellbeing Lab, to identify what elements of the physical environment mostly impact the health and wellbeing of M&S employees in their retail stores. By looking at the typical ‘day in the life’ of M&S employees, the study has outlined how the staff perceives health and wellbeing and what elements are to be prioritised in the design and operation of the stores.
The event will have M&S, TCE and BuroHappold presenting on the results of the study for the UKGBC Retail Lab Report, showing how the study was run and what recommendations can be taken forward to improve the retail working environment.
