Wellness and Architecture: Interdisciplinary Panel Discussion - SOLD OUT waiting list only
16 May 2018
18:30 – 20:30 followed by drinks and networking
WilkinsonEyre, 33 Bowling Green Lane, London EC1R 0BJ
Wellness is at the forefront of the sustainable design discourse, but how well are we doing as an industry in creating places which promote health and wellbeing? Is the success limited to isolated case studies or are we consistently delivering better places?
WilkinsonEyre is holding an interdisciplinary panel discussion presenting key projects where the principles of wellness have been applied, what we have learned, and what our road map is to consistently deliver WELL buildings. Architects, academics, clients and engineers will present insights from the journey to delivering better places and discuss what comes next.
Chris Wilkinson, WilkinsonEyre Founding Director will open the panel in conversation with Charles Jencks, landscape designer, architectural historian, and co-founder of the Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres.
Julie Godfrey, Head of Sustainable Development at CIBSE and a WELL Accredited professional will give an overview of her WELL building consultancy and the current position of CIBSE.
Dr Edward Edgerton, Reader of Environmental Psychology and Past Chair of the International Association of People-Environment Studies will remind us of the fundamental psychological principles that support wellbeing, and present his innovative research into educational buildings and cities.
The evening will conclude with drinks and networking.
