Open House Families is London’s brand new festival of architecture exclusively for children and their families, designed to inspire the next generation of city-shapers.
During the festival families can explore and admire incredible buildings and places throughout London alongside architects, engineers and artists.

About Open House Families
This year's Open House Families has been a huge success. Thank you so much to all of the artists, architects, engineers, festival partners and families who took part in the festival. Thank you too to all of the festival's sponsors for enabling Open House Families to take place. The sun shone over 50 hands-on workshops including craft and design activities, engineering experiments, architectural tours and storytelling sessions. Both children and adults had so much fun celebrating and learning about their city and how it is created.More Info
Open House Families is a free event that invites everyone to take part. This year saw hundreds of families attending events at locations across London including the National Gallery, The Royal Academy, the V&A, the British Library, RIBA, St Paul's Cathedral and many more extraordinary and exciting venus. Families also attended an array of amazing workshops at the festival's four main activity hubs including Gasholder park, Canary Wharf, Here East and 30 st Mary's Axe.

More Open House Famlies Events
There will be lots of free exciting Open House Families events taking place over the Open House Weekend (22 and 23 September) and so please keep an eye on these pages throughout August and September.
This summer Open House Families is also celebrating the release of The House with a Clock in Its Walls starring Jack Black and Oscar-winner, Cate Blanchett. A magical adventure from the people who brought you iconic classics such as E.T., Back to the Future and The BFG, The House with a Clock in Its Walls tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls is released in UK cinemas on 21st September, watch the trailer!
Head out on your own magical adventure during Open House Weekend by exploring one of our own houses with a clock in their walls – take a picture of one of the fantastic clocks in an Open House venue and share on social media with the hashtag #OpenHouseWithAClock for your chance to win a private screening of the film for you and 30 friends.
