Volunteering at Open City is a great opportunity to be part of London’s largest festival or architecture and design whilst supporting the Open City charity and helping to keep Open House free for everyone.
Open City relies on the support of volunteers, donors and sponsors and is always looking for committed and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. This might be helping at Open House London Weekend in September, Open House Families in June or helping in the Open City office throughout the year.
Open House is London's largest festival of architecture and design where over 800 buildings across London open their doors to the public for free. 6,000 people volunteer every year over the weekend event. As a volunteer you will be helping building owners/representatives to open their buildings to the public. In a lot of cases, the buildings would not be able to open without volunteer support. You can also volunteer to help at our new event, Open House Families in June, running family activities at selected venues throughout London.
Volunteering is open to everyone and doesn’t require any specific experience. Those with knowledge of or interest in architecture, engineering, town planning, or any subject that might be related to the built environment may be well suited to leading tours of one of the buildings in the programme.
