Open City celebrates conclusion of It’s My City Too 2024-25

Facilitator Iyanu Ogunbowale leads It’s My City Too’s end of term celebreation

Over the past six weeks, our specialist facilitators have been working with our partnered Special Educational Needs schools to deliver engaging, sensory, workshops that introduce design and the built environment

Highlights included printing on tote bags, building collective play scapes, and even a trip to the immersive Bubble Planet in Wembley! Our students concluded the programme with a graduation ceremony commemorate their experience.

Supported by the John Lyon's Trust, It's My City Too's sensory sessions are intended to build awareness of and access to spaces for students aged 8-14 in SEN schools. Participants enjoy trips to explore the city and a celebration event at the end of the term which also welcomes their parents and encourages them to share in the creative experience alongside their children.

If you're interested in bringing this programming to your school in 2026 or supporting our education programmes, email education@open-city.org.uk
