Foster Kirk Architects
'Nicholas Kirk and Jeremy Foster have recently combined forces to create Foster Kirk Architects. Foster Kirk are an agile, responsive, design led practice who specialise in all aspects of architecture; envelope, interiors, public realm and all the spaces between.
Their approach is community-focused, uniquely personal, and tailored to provide the best outcome for the brief. Projects are informed through collaboration and a rigorous understanding of history, site and context. Their commitment to craft, detail and sustainability ensures their work stands the test of time with minimal environmental impact.'
Foster Kirk Architects were proud to work with Bikeworks to create their new HQ and Inclusive Cycling Centre at the heart of the Olympic Park, Stratford, East London.
With bespoke joinery expertly crafted by Constructive and Co and the fit-out by Sara Int, FKA as lead designer have delivered an eye-catching fit-out that provides dedicated office and workshop space for an essential community charity. The new Bikeworks hub is located opposite the Velodrome, the spiritual home of British cycling.
Innovative features bring delight and function to the project, such as ‘The Penknife’ - a flexible storage wall containing shelving, desk space and a unique curved door and ‘The Gantry’ - a movable soffit containing power, lighting and storage.
As part of the Open House Festival 2023, the team are very pleased to show the public around the new Bikeworks HQ and explain a bit more about the fantastic work they do.'
With music to enliven the opening, Bikeworks will also provide a couple of cycle taxis to scoot around the Olympic Park for any attendees wishing to take part.
