Do you want to volunteer with us?
We’re looking for Regional Volunteers to help us plan Open House London 2021
Open House is London's largest festival of architecture and design where over 800 buildings across London open their doors to the public for free. 8,000 people volunteer every year over the weekend event. We have a small team of volunteers who help one day a week with all things Open House, from building research to inviting architects and project managers to participate in the event.
Inspired by the knowledge and commitment of all our amazing volunteers, we want you, the people who love and attend Open House, to have the power and opportunity to influence which buildings and projects take part in the festival.
We are looking for Regional Volunteers to set up committees around London. These committees will focus on recruiting and helping buildings and community projects in those areas to get ready for the festival. Answering questions about how they should open up, how many tours to run or how many volunteers they might need, these committees will be the first point of contact for buildings in that area and offer support in completing the online submission form.
You might live or work in a particular area of London and have a good architectural knowledge of that area, or perhaps you are interested in learning more about the architecture in your local area.
Time Commitment
We estimate that this will be a 1 day a week commitment, mainly from February until the end of September
Training
The core Open House team will help you get set up but how you run your committee is up to you, you might want to meet once a month to discuss how everyone is getting on whilst working independently in the meantime, or you might want to work more closely together and meet more regularly, it’s up to you and how you want to work.
Working with the Open House team, you will have the opportunity to influence the festival and maybe even get a sneak peak at some of the venues before the festival.
You will be fully briefed and trained to use our system and will have contacts for the Core team so you know who to go to with any additional questions you may have.
Requirements
You will be volunteering from home and will therefore need access to a computer and an internet connection.
