Open City wins award for work supporting young people to pursue careers in architecture and design

Charity named leading providers of not-for-profit educational programmes supporting children and young people from under-represented communities.

Open City has won the Leading Providers - Not-for-Profits category of the Architecture into Education Awards for its work supporting children and young people.

The victory recognises the educational charity’s long-standing programmes supporting young people in London and Birmingham to pursue studies and careers in architecture and design.

In recent years the charity has significantly expanded its educational programmes now supporting thousands of children and young people a year.

Phineas Harper, chief executive of Open City said: “This award recognises the quality and ambition of life-changing programmes the Open City team are delivering across the capital and beyond. Huge congratulations to Sarah, Siân, Siraaj, Zafir and our wider team of workshop facilitators, tutors and educators whose tireless are creative work this victory belongs to.”
