Open House Festival comes to a close, but your chance to get involved isn't over
Open House Festival 2024 comes to a close, thank you for being a part of it.
From Hillingdon to Havering, hundreds of thousands of you visited everything from the roof of London to the sewers beneath. We met neighbours and friends, found something new and remembered something old - and we'll do it all again next year, absolutely free.
Open House Festival is run by a charity, Open City, which aims to bring communities together with the built environment around them. Though the festival is over we haven’t gone away, our inspiring educational programmes for primary school children and young people returns this September.
In the coming months over 1,000 children will build their own models for a future fantastic London with the help of design professionals in our Young City Makers programme. We are also welcoming our biggest ever cohort of Accelerate students as 120 sixth formers undertake workshops at five partner universities throughout the year. Alongside these, our public tours programme delivers year-round explorations of London and our weekly podcast briefs you on the latest built environment news.
In short, there’s lots to occupy you until next September, and lots of ways you can get involved and support our work. Foremost among these is by becoming a regular donor. Sign up as an Open City Friend today and and you will receive exclusive artworks and events throughout the year as a thank you. It is this support which keeps the festival free for future generations. So if you enjoyed this year's festival and believe that cities are best shared, then please support our work today. Thank you.
