Open House Festival 2023: when to open

This year we will split the festival into two weekends and offer guidance with which boroughs should open on which weekends. The full break-down is below.

Contributors are welcome to open at any time during the festival, including weekdays, and indeed for the entirety of the festival should they wish. For contributors who want to open for a day or two, this is guidance as to which weekend to open, the aim is to help contributors to open up and run events at the same time as others in their neighbourhood or borough. This will also help visitors explore more in one go.

You are not obliged to follow our guidance, but it will help them open up at the same time as others nearby.

If you are thinking of joining our community of festival contributors and planning on proposing an opening or event for the festival, we are running in person drop-ins and online briefings throughout spring and summer to help contributors through the planning and submission process.
