Words on Wood, a podcast about timber, design and architecture
Open City is thrilled to present, episode one of season two of Words on Wood, a fantastic podcast created by the American Hardwood Export Council in conjunction with Disegno journal, that delves deep into the big questions surrounding forests, the timber industry, and the use of wood as a design material.
We’ve been fans of Words on Wood for for some time. It’s a very well produced show combining interviews with some of the best brains in the timber industry with leading creative practitioners from carpenters to architects. Words on Wood rightly won an Archiboo award earlier this year and today we’re very pleased to share an episode of their latest series.
This second season of Words on Wood sees Disegno’s editors Oli Stratford and India Block navigate the intersections between the worlds of forestry and design and architecture, focusing in on topics including timber construction; experimental uses of wood and cellulose; a world wide timber tracing network; and a look at how designers and makers are bringing fresh relevance to traditional woodcraft practices.
You can find the show here or search Words on Wood wherever you get your podcasts.
