Join Open City for a walking tour exploring Fitzrovia’s landmark and hidden architectural wonders

This lively walking tour — led by Golden Key Academy graduate Joseph Granata — explores one of central London’s most distinctive neighbourhoods. Nestled between the scholarly squares of Bloomsbury, the buzz of Soho and the polished streets of Marylebone, Fitzrovia has quietly gone its own way, even if the landmark BT Tower rising above its rooftops makes it hard to miss.

We will delve into Fitzrovia’s heart to reveal its modest character, shining a light on noteworthy historical architecture and demonstrating how this understated quality has informed large-scale contemporary developments. We will look closely at the buildings that give Fitzrovia its texture, including the Fitzroy Tavern and the Fitzrovia Chapel, take a passage or two that most Londoners have never found, and stumble on a few surprises along the way.
