As part of National Park City Rooftops there will be a variety of activities for you to take part in, including the following:
Summertime bee talk at Ham Yard Hotel
Join Ham Yard Hotel's resident Bee Keeper on the hotel's roof terrace to learn about the role of an urban beekeeper. You will also be guided through a tasting of some London honeys and honeys from around the world. Sunday 21 July 6-7pm. Booking is essential, click here
Seminar on urban greening at Great Arthur House, Golden Lane Estate
This seminar discusses how Golden Lane residents are tackling the need to create a greener City of London. The seminar will look at what has been achieved to date and ask: ‘Why can’t every building in the City have a roof garden?’. Sunday 21 July 1-2pm. First come first serve.
Seed planting at Doddington and Rollo Estate Rooftop Garden
The volunteers at Doddington and Rollo Estate will be showing us their tips and tricks for planting seeds, herbs and flowers so you can try it at home. You will also be able to take home what you've planted in a small pot. Saturday 20 July 10am-4pm.
Bee hive tours at the Lyric Hammersmith Roof Garden
Walk amongst and learn about the maintenance of bee hives on the Lyric Hammersmith roof garden. The tours are limited to 8 persons at a time and booking is required via the website. Saturday 20 July, midday to 11pm.
Bird watching at Dorich House Museum
Located directly next to Richmond Park this roof terrace is a great bird watching spot, especially for parakeets. Drop in to the museum and pick up a bird spotting guide and see how many you can spot from the roof terrace. Saturday 20 July 11am-4pm. Drop in activity.
