As part of our new live-streamed series of tours of remarkable interiors across the capital, we will be exploring Mountain View, a radical transformation of an Edwardian Semi by CAN.
The deep blue front-room retains its Edwardian features with Soanian style building fragments adorning the walls. The new kitchen is made from recycled chopping boards and milk bottle tops. The ruined back wall of the house reveals the extension, a stage set mountain held up on wafer-thin bright blue trusses. Themes of landscape and mapping creep in with ranging pole and survey marker tiles. The first floor has been re-modelled with the hallway opened to the roof. The structural bones of the roof have been retained and picked out in pastel colours.

At Home With Open House
At Home with Open House is a new series created to satiate the need to see beyond what the square of your laptop will allow. Join us over the coming months for lunchtime tours in which invited Londoners will give live-streamed video tours of the homes they have been locked down in from architect-designed contemporary apartments to historic houses and boats on the Thames.
See more upcoming events in the series at Open City’s events page.
