At Home with Open House, Vanbrugh Park designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon

Combe-Avenue-02_61232fd2454e54d0988b8f7dd0d5fbe6.jpg

As part of our new live-streamed series of tours of remarkable interiors across the capital, we will be exploring two types of residence at Vanbrugh Park Estate with Jess Sampson and Phineas Harper. Sampson and Harper will be joined by architect and senior lecturer James Payne as guest interviewer, James also lives on the estate.

The estate was completed in 1963 and is the lesser known work, designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon of the Barbican Estate and Golden Lane Estate fame.

The estate stretched across seven acres and includes a wide range of housing, including an eight-storey tower block, terraced houses and maisonettes.

At Home With Open House

At Home with Open House is a new series created to satiate the need to see beyond what the square of your laptop will allow. Join us over the coming months for lunchtime tours in which invited Londoners will give live-streamed video tours of the homes they have been locked down in from architect-designed contemporary apartments to historic houses and boats on the Thames.

See more upcoming events in the series at Open City’s events page.
