The Baylight Fellowship - Part 3: South East England

An experiential learning programme providing this generation’s most ambitious commissioners of new housing with the insight, knowledge and inspiration required to deliver outstanding homes and unlock sustainable future value.

Escape the office on Friday 7 October with a day-long visit to extraordinary residential landmarks in South East England. Meeting at London Victoria, participants will travel by coach visiting Cedar Chase, Lyde End and Turn End and returning to London in the evening.

The third part of the Baylight Fellowship from the Academy of British Housing will include:

  • Exterior tour of the acclaimed Lyde End, Bedlow designed by the acclaimed architects Peter Aldington and John Craig in 1977 and focussing on the creation of successful long-term housing in a sensitive rural context

  • Resident-led tour of Span’s Cedar Chase, Taplow focussing on the long-term maintenance of shared public spaces

  • Trust-led tour of Grade II*-listed Turn End, Haddenham, exploring both interiors and the development’s internationally renowned gardens

  • Workshop led by Aidan Hall, co-founder of social enterprise Okra

    Tickets: £145 (private sector) or £105 (public sector)

The multi-part course offers an opportunity to join ambitious like-minded professionals for an experiential journey exploring time-honoured elements of successful housing – building long-term collaboration between Baylight Fellows drawn from across the public and private sectors.

Open to everyone with an interest in commissioning ambitious new housing, Part 3 is the third instalment of the Baylight Fellowship and comes just a few months after Part 1 and Part 2 which explored extraordinary housing in Cambridge and London. Prices for the day include travel and catering and are £145 for private sector with a £105 concession for those working in the public sector. Ticket price includes catering and coach transport to and from London.
