Mike Saunders

Mike has been a digital pioneer and entrepreneur for over 20 years, developing innovative digital businesses across media, public, and commercial sectors.

Mike co-founded Commonplace to realise his vision of inspiring thriving places through community data and collaboration. It has been used by over 200 developers and local authorities in the UK and around the world winning multiple awards, most recently from Planning Magazine.

With degrees in physics and interactive design, Mike’s background includes multiple startups as well as running digital functions in central government (DCMS), broadcasting (Channel 4), and Environment (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Mike is deputy chair of Trinity College London and has previously served on the Speaker’s Advisory Committee on Public Engagement at Parliament.
