Open House Festival 2023 Design Partners

The Open House Festival is launching a new open call for architecture practices to contribute their projects to the 2023 festival.

Ten winning architects who unlock buildings or spaces not normally open to everyone, or host an open day of a public space in a new and exciting way, will be credited as Design Partners across the charity’s channels. A total of 30 shortlisted applicants will get to open the doors of their projects and feature in a special collection showcasing London’s best emerging architecture.

To be considered, architecture practices should meet the 2023 festival criteria, and to then be considered as a Design Partner, the open days must:

  • Include tours run by the architect or designer

  • Be open for at least one day

  • Make genuine strides to engage visitors and public in interesting and meaningful ways

The judges and festival team encourage applications that::

  • Open places of community interest

  • Open domestic architecture

  • Champion sustainable approaches and practices

  • Have a proven track record of innovative community or resident collaboration

  • Are from practices with a staff count of 50 or less

  • Open more than one project for the festival

  • Create innovative ways of sharing the space with visitors
