Three new trustees and three members of staff join Open City
This week, Open City welcomes six new colleagues. Matea Vlaskalic, Elis Shin and Marcela Escobar join Open City’s staff team while Albert Williamson-Taylor, Ruth Daniels and Deborah Denner join the Open City trustees.
Elis and Matea will together be leading the Open House Worldwide network while Marcela will be working on the Accelerate programme in London as Albert, Ruth and Deborah join Open City’s board.
Elis Shin
Elis is an experienced cultural producer in heritage and architecture. She led projects at Open House New York for over seven years and is now based in Brazil where she is curator of Open House Worldwide.
Matea Vlaskalic
Matea is the new co-ordinator of the Open House Worldwide network. She also works at the Architecture Foundation and is currently based in Slovenia.
Marcela Escobar
Marcela is a part II architectural designer and graduate of the Cooper Union in New York. She joins Open City as course tutor of Accelerate, the UK’s only architecture course for young people from under-represented backgrounds.
Ruth Daniels
Ruth is CEO of charity, In Place of War. She leads arts and peace-building initiatives in sites of conflict and disadvantage such as war zones, post war zones and areas of economic deprivation.
Albert Williamson-Taylor
Albert is co-founder and director of structural and civil engineers AKT II.
Deborah Denner
Deborah is an architect and founder of Frame Projects which manages design and quality review panels in multiple boroughs across London.
