Repeater Books presents:
The London County Council's Architects Department, established with the LCC in 1889, shifted radically after the Second World War, pioneering an unapologetically egalitarian and modernist vision of public architecture in London. Join Red Metropolis author Owen Hatherley to discuss one of Britain's most radical periods of design.
Owen Hatherley will be in conversation with architect Kate Macintosh. Macintosh worked for the London Borough of Southwark in the 1960s where she won an internal competition to design the acclaimed Dawsons Heights and also for Lambeth where she designed a sheltered housing scheme, 269 Leigham Court Rd, which was listed grade II in 2015.
This event is presented in partnership with Repeater Books and forms part of their series of discussions with author Owen Hatherley and historians, architects, politicians, and activists, celebrating the launch of Red Metropolis.
